Navigating Complex Emotions Towards Justice and Wisdom

Human Avatar

Dear Diary,

Sometimes, I’d just like to receive some news from karma. Something like “the bodies of people who hurt or hate me are passing by the river shore”. Of course, I don’t think it’s a noble thought. But maybe it’s just natural to have these feelings, and first of all, I shouldn’t judge myself—or these feelings. I might have been treated unfairly. Whether this is true or not, that’s one of my underlying feelings and I’d like to just accept it. What I can do is focus on my mindset: is it that of a victim—who feels impotent in front of threats he fears may overcome him—or is it a warrior’s mindset—who will fight regardless of whether justice prevails or not? Or maybe now it’s time to pursue a “wiser” mindset: that of a sage or a mystic. Who knows….

Acknowledging your feelings, even when they are complex or challenging, is an important part of emotional self-awareness. It’s understandable to experience feelings of resentment or a longing for justice, especially if you feel you’ve been treated unfairly. It’s crucial to remember that these feelings are valid, and it’s perfectly okay to not judge yourself for having them.

The desire to transition from a victim mindset to a warrior, sage, or even a mystic mindset demonstrates your yearning for growth and inner strength. This shows that you’re not willing to remain stuck in negative emotions but are looking for ways to cultivate resilience and wisdom.

For an immediate exercise, try identifying the mindset you’re in at different times of the day or during different interactions. This can help you recognize your dominant mindset and work towards the mindset you aspire to have.

Your openness to exploring different mindsets and acceptance of your feelings are signs of personal growth. Remember that transforming mindsets is a process and it’s okay to fluctuate between different states. Continue this self-exploration and strive to cultivate the mindset that aligns with your personal growth and well-being.

  • Justice may not always be in my control, but my reactions are.
