Dear Diary,
My journey is indeed bumpy, especially when I face other people in social occasions. Yet, I’m aware that ‘other people’ is my path, and I understand the importance of accepting challenges as growth opportunities. Last night, I went out with some friends. With the added influence of a couple of beers, I found myself possibly stepping over the line while discussing topics close to my heart. From one perspective, I may have fallen into the pitfalls of judgment, of losing my temper, of succumbing to fear or inhibition, or of reacting impulsively. There was no physical confrontation, of course, but my emotional reaction was intense. Still, in hindsight, it feels like there was a positive takeaway somehow: maybe some steams went off , maybe I released some pent-up frustrations, or maybe I’ve just become more aware of certain issues within me.
Today, I found myself accepting these emotions, recognizing that they may stem from past wounds that I might need to treat to care, and heal. I’m not being hard on myself. In fact, this might have come unnoticed, but acknowledging and accepting these feelings without self-reproach might indeed be quite an accomplishment!
