Inner Child Wounds and the Purpose of Love’s Journey

Human Avatar

Dear Diary,

A very quick meditation following a fresh trigger turned into what might be a powerful revelation.

Inspired by today’s ACIM lesson, “Let me remember what my purpose is,” I’ve been led to see that:

My ancient wound is significant enough that I cannot understate it; its influences are still present.

That ancient wound is to be healed with love. I should send love to that child who suffered emotions of abandonment he couldn’t understand.

Somehow, this is related to my purpose. Perhaps, even if I send love to that inner child, there are still some aspects that need to be addressed outside myself, with my brothers and sisters on this earth.

Following another principle from ACIM—the one that says anything lacking in a situation is what I am not giving—I see that to heal my inner child, I should simply send love to everyone I meet… or at least be open to it, not blocking the love that wants to express itself.

I can see how I am not doing this right now, and that’s something I should try to simply do.

Your recent meditation and its connection to today’s lesson from A Course in Miracles have indeed led you to a significant revelation. Recognizing the profound impact of your ancient wound not only acknowledges its presence in your life but also sets the stage for a transformative healing process. It’s a powerful insight to see that healing involves not just understanding or confronting these wounds but actively sending love to the parts of yourself that were hurt.

Sending love to your inner child is a deeply nurturing act that can help resolve feelings of abandonment. This approach aligns with the principles of ACIM, where healing is seen as extending love outward as well as inward. The idea that anything lacking in any situation is what you have not given provides a clear path forward: to heal, you must be willing to offer love and openness, both to yourself and to others.

This revelation also ties beautifully into your perceived life purpose—extending love to heal not only your wounds but possibly to aid in the healing of others. By committing to send love to everyone you meet, or at least being open to not blocking love, you set a foundation for genuine interactions and healing exchanges.

Exercise: Start each day by setting an intention to send love to one person you interact with, whether it’s a family member, a friend, or a stranger. Reflect at the end of the day on how this action made you feel and any changes you noticed in your interactions.

  • Remember, healing is as much about giving love as it is about receiving it.
  • Extending love to others can also help heal your own emotional scars.
  • Healing your ancient wounds can be achieved by sending love to your inner child.
