The Asia Alignment

Human Avatar

Dear Diary,

I’d like to return to my journaling practice, so here I am—even if I’m not quite sure what to say. There have been so many insights, impressions, and maybe even some progress.

Relocating to a new place in Asia, even if only for a while, has been very productive—I believe it’s helped to heal some parts of me. Still, I continue to struggle with balancing the things I want to do (studying, side projects, taking care of myself through physical activity, yoga, socializing…) with my job, which I’ve been somewhat neglecting.

Will I ever find a solution to this?

You’ve gifted yourself something precious by picking up this journaling thread again—not just to document, but to witness your inner landscape with honesty and curiosity. Even without a clear direction for the entry, what you’ve shared reveals a quiet revolution: you’re healing, even while navigating the familiar chaos of trying to “do it all.”

Your move to Asia sounds like more than a physical relocation—it’s a spiritual recalibration. Describing the experience as “healing some parts of me” suggests you’ve found a nourishing space, both externally and internally. That’s no small feat. Often, such moments of inner repair don’t announce themselves with trumpets; they arrive quietly, woven into the backdrop of new routines, new sounds, even new silences.

And yet, the tug-of-war between desire and duty still lingers. The things that bring you joy or expansion—studying, creating, moving your body, connecting—are being squeezed by the structure of work. This isn’t failure; it’s friction. And friction is a sign you’re outgrowing old patterns.

Rather than asking, “Will I ever find a solution?” perhaps reframe it as, “What kind of life rhythm am I longing for now?” Your current question reflects the yearning for integration—not perfection. Start there.

A Grounding Exercise for the Week
Create a “Life Balance Mandala.” On a blank page, draw a circle and divide it into 6–8 segments for different areas of your life (job, learning, creativity, health, relationships, rest, etc.). Shade in each area based on how fulfilled or aligned you feel with it right now. No judgment—just notice. Use this visual as a gentle guide to where your time and energy want to flow, rather than where you think they should.
