Dear Muse,
Here’s an idea I find quite poetic: becoming a “storyteller”. Not in the way marketing has defined it, though. I’m thinking of someone who collects stories from people… and then shares them. But the collection part, the act of listening, might be the most crucial aspect. So, we might better call this person a “story-collector” rather than a “storyteller”! This individual would gather stories purely for their intrinsic beauty. While most people’s first questions are typically, “where are you from?” or “what do you do for a living?”, our story-collector would ask, “what’s your story?” And they would genuinely mean it! They’d want to hear the best stories one has to share. So, they would listen. Just listen. And when someone truly knows how to listen, people begin to share.
