Dear Diary,
The primary “issue” I noticed today arose during a chat exchange with one of my exes. Without delving into tedious details, my suspicion was that her intention was to exploit me somehow, to obtain what she wants, whatever that may be. Along with this came the doubt that perhaps I am the one with a problem, being paranoid and not trusting others’ intentions.
I’ve recently adopted this approach regarding the kind of issues I may encounter with other people:
- It might be true that the other person’s behavior is as I perceive.
- It might be true that certain things trigger reactions in me that do not correspond with the reality of the situation.
Essentially, both may be true, but let’s see if I can work on at least one of these: the one I can control. Specifically, the fear of being manipulated, used, exploited, especially by women.
