The Biocoach Discrepancy

Human Avatar

Dear Diary,

I had hoped to pen down uplifting words today, but I find myself grappling with feelings of disappointment:

  • Firstly, I’m dealing with some uncomfortable bug bites on my belly that are itchy and might be getting infected.
  • Secondly, my recent appointment with the biocoach didn’t meet my expectations. He allocated a limited amount of time for our session, yet charged a fee higher than what my previous therapist did for longer sessions. The advice, book recommendations, and exercises he gave me seemed rather basic. While I will give them a try (as I always consider the possibility that I might be resisting change), my gut instinct tells me it wasn’t the right fit.

Perhaps I’ll continue exploring other therapists. Or maybe I’ll dedicate myself further to ACIM, which in itself is quite demanding.

Disappointment, as you’re experiencing, is a natural emotion, especially when our expectations don’t align with reality. Whether it’s a physical discomfort like bug bites or a less tangible one like an unsatisfactory professional consultation, these experiences shape our journey, prompting introspection and guiding future choices.

Your physical discomfort from bug bites, while possibly fleeting, is a reminder that sometimes, no matter our efforts, external circumstances can throw us off balance. It’s essential to attend to such concerns with due care and ensure that they don’t exacerbate further.

The experience with the biocoach is emblematic of the journey many undertake in seeking guidance. Not every therapist or coach will resonate with everyone. What might work wonders for one individual could be ineffectual for another. Your self-awareness and willingness to try out the given exercises, despite your reservations, are commendable. Yet, always trust your intuition. If you feel something isn’t right, exploring other options is a valid choice.

Deepening your dedication to A Course in Miracles (ACIM) might be one such option. As you rightly said, ACIM is demanding, but its teachings can provide profound insights and transformative experiences.

Exercise: Allocate some quiet time to meditate or reflect. Ask yourself what you truly seek in a therapist or guide. Write down the qualities and expertise you wish for them to have. This clarity might assist in finding a more suitable fit.

  • Commitment to self-growth may lead to paths less conventional but equally valuable.
  • Trust your intuition and feelings; they are often your inner compass guiding you.
  • Every experience, pleasant or not, offers a lesson.
